Kittens are the cutest and sweetest animal we’ve ever seen in our surrounding. They are baby cat still in the age of their childhood. Babies of some of the other species of animals are also called as kitten such as skunks, beavers, hedgehogs, rabbits and rats.
Kittens are born after a period of 64-67 days from matured cats. As for first three weeks they are not able to regulate temperature of their body, they are kept warm by their mothers. For their proper growth and necessary nutrition, they need mother’s milk. Mother’s milk provides them antibodies to fight against all illness and strengthen them.
Just after the birth, they can’t see as their retina is poorly-developed. Their vision to see things is poor. Kittens usually open their eyes after six to nine days. But gradually they develop strength to see. They start developing after two weeks until seventh week. Meanwhile they develop their strength and involve into play-fight with litter-mates. Steadily, they learn to play stalking and hunting games. By bringing live prey to them, their mother or other adults help them improve skills of hunting so that they can earn their own feast.
As they live around us and people adopt them as their domestic pets, they become part of our life. They are social and love to live with us. They are given food items to eat otherwise they hunt for their own. They are vaccinated so that they can fight against common illnesses. People have them with other pet animals such as dogs etc.
Sometimes we find them orphaned roaming street to street. They need care and support from our side. They should be given at least a bowl of milk so that they can be survived from the malnourishment and starvation. They can become our great companion whom we can spend time of such a thrill and amusement.
